“Crown for Gaia”, 2023. natural & found materials, waxed linen, gemstones
A recent commission, honoring “Gaia”, earth mother, currently on display at the Art Barn School of Art exhibition, Butterflies and Beyond, now through September 27.
Thanks to Professor Jody Nix for inviting me to work with her advanced art education students. We explored the universal circle motif, learning about the healing purposes of Tibetan Mandalas and Navajo Sand Paintings which inspired a collaborative assemblage.
