Copper Hand Pendant with Charms
Copper Hand Pendant with Charms
This series of “hand” pendants is inspired by the creations of the ancient Hopewell Culture. The Hopewell people, of what is now southern Ohio, created and buried effigies of hands in their mound graves as a way to connect the spirit world with the living world.
Each copper hand is unique and hand cut from sheet metal, filed, sanded, textured and selectively embellished. In this case with coral, shell, brass and copper beads with a Chinese coin . This hand is finished with a rustic patina that is sealed for a stable finish. The copper ball chain is 30” long (can easily be shortened). The hand measures 4 1/8” tall from the top of the jump ring to the bottom of the longest finger, and 1 1/4” at the hand’s widest point. This light weight necklace will compliment any outfit, from casual to dressy.
